Image yourself floating out in space in a clear, protective bubble far away from Earth, never to return. All is silent and dark around you, except for the Earth, which is receding but is still visible and about the size of a quarter to the eye. As you gaze back at Earth, contemplate the fact that virtually every single thing done by man (all wars won or lost, loves requited or not, achievements acclaimed or unknown) has occurred in that one place.
Now swing your view around in any other direction consider that nothing Man has ever done has occurred in that direction. You could travel forever in any direction that was not directly at Earth and never encounter anything affected by Man.
Our lack of significance in Physical Reality is one of our greatest misperceptions.
